The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation (The Uvalde Foundation For Kids) is providing an important update on our emergency fundraising efforts and ongoing support for the family of Michael Allen.
We are honored to be able to announce we have been able to offer immediate financial support to Michael's mother, Linda Allen, during this unimaginably difficult time, especially as the Christmas season approaches.
š Initial Funds Transferred: A Heartfelt Effort by Our Student Volunteers
We are proud to announce the immediate transfer of our first round of accumulated funds to Michael Allen's family. These initial funds were raised SOLELY by our dedicated student volunteers, many of whom generously donated their personal allowances to support the family. Their commitment reflects the core mission of our Foundation.
š° Honoring Michael's Life: Permanent Memorial

As announced on December 4, 2025, the Foundation is permanently honoring 18-year-old Michael Allen, who tragically lost his life on December 1, 2025, in a shooting on Clyde Fant Parkway.
Michael has been added to our national gun violence memorial, "Trees for Peace," as part of our Student Gun Violence Memorial Project. A tree will be planted in his memory in a national forest, ensuring his life is never forgotten.
š° Immediate Transfer of Funds for the Family
We can confirm that as of today, Monday, December 15, 2025, we have approved the immediate transfer of the funds raised by our students.
These funds are intended to help cover essential expenses and ease the financial burden on the family as they focus on grieving and healing.
š Ongoing Fundraising Through the Holidays
Our commitment to Michael's family does not end here. We want to assure our supporters that the Emergency Fundraiser remains fully active!
Our dedicated student volunteers will continue their efforts to raise support throughout the entire Christmas holiday period. We will facilitate subsequent transfers of funds to the family as donations continue to come in.
Every dollar raised, great or small, helps Michael's family. We are honored to stand with them during this time and commit to never forgetting Michael.
