The Anchorpoint

WASHINGTON – Nov. 16, 2025 – The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation today announced the launch of The Anchorpoint Program, a national, decentralized network providing immediate, temporary safe housing and comprehensive support services for youth experiencing emergent crises, including family violence, abuse, and acute homelessness.

The program is set for official national implementation on Dec. 1, 2025

Anchorpoint establishes confidential, volunteer-operated residency chapters designed to offer immediate, trauma-informed sanctuary and ongoing resources specifically for minors up to 18 years old.

All chapters operate directly under the Foundation's centralized legal, compliance, and liability framework to ensure consistent integrity and safety nationwide.

The existence of the Anchorpoint Program is a direct moral imperative,” said Daniel Chapin, Founder of the Youth Peace and Justice Foundation. “In an often unsafe world, stability is the precursor to peace.

We are not just offering a temporary shelter & basic support resources; we are offering an immediate reversal of trauma—a moment of nurturing safety—to bridge the gap between crisis and healing. We call upon our communities to open their hearts and homes nationwide and transform silent despair into powerful resilience.”

One key aspect of the initiative addresses the urgent crisis of youth homelessness in the U.S., where over 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness annually.

Research shows that up to 73% of homeless youth report experiencing victimization or violence, with stable housing interventions, like Anchorpoint, proven to reduce high-risk behaviors by 33%.

-------

The Foundation maintains direct, centralized control over the 24-hour national referral system for intake and placement logistics.

Anchorpoint Residencies offer immediate access to homelessness and food assistance, specialized violence intervention, expedited referral for long-term housing, and emergency remote linkage to trauma support.

-------

Safety and integrity are paramount, requiring all volunteer Anchorpoint Hosts to undergo rigorous centralized vetting.

This process includes comprehensive national, state, and local background checks, mandatory screening against the Megan’s Law Sex Offender Registry, and in-depth residence inspections.

Hosts are required to complete mandatory training in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), child protection reporting, and de-escalation techniques.

--------

In anticipation of the 2025 launch, the Anchorpoint Program is urgently seeking compassionate individuals and partners.

The Foundation is actively recruiting dedicated volunteer Anchorpoint Hosts to provide temporary sanctuary, establishing cooperative relationships with existing youth-serving organizations, and securing financial support for centralized training and resources.
