----------
(Nov. 9, 2025) – The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation (YPJF) today announced the launch of its annual holiday fundraising effort, the “Light the Way” campaign, with the urgent goal of raising $10,000 by Dec. 31 to establish a dedicated Community Mentorship Hub designed to serve young leaders across Central Texas, specifically in the Temple and Austin areas.

The hub will serve as a stable, centralized resource for youth involved in peacebuilding and justice advocacy, addressing growing local needs for safe spaces and consistent, professional guidance. The Hub will also serve dually as an extension of our central Texas residency chapter located in Temple, Texas.

The $10,000 goal is specifically allocated to acquire the core infrastructure necessary for the Hub to operate year-round, starting in early 2026, directly advancing the Foundation’s violence prevention mission. YPJF adheres to a clear youth impact model: consistent, high-quality mentorship is the most effective preventative measure against youth involvement in conflict.

The Hub provides the stable environment needed to enact this model. This includes funding vital resources like mentor background checks and training, new youth welcome kits, and dedicated technical workstations.

The campaign is structuring its appeal around tangible needs that directly parallel youth impact. For instance, each $1,000 Infrastructure Gift funds a complete workstation, providing a young leader with essential digital access and a dedicated work area—a resource that tangibly shifts focus from risk behavior to educational attainment and skill building.

Similarly, a $250 Training Gift guarantees that one mentor is fully certified, reinforcing the long-term integrity and efficacy of the violence prevention program.

"The mentorship Hub is essential to providing stability and direction for our young leaders in both Temple and Austin. Our $10,000 goal ensures we can equip the physical space with the necessary infrastructure—from digital workstations to certified training—to sustain high-quality mentorship year-round.

This Hub is a critical intervention that will yield long-term benefits for the entire Central Texas community." said Daniel Chapin, founder of the nonprofit.

The “Light the Way” campaign features a special Recurring Donor Challenge during the 2025 Giving Tuesday period, aiming to convert one-time supporters into long-term partners whose steady contributions will ensure the ongoing operation and maintenance of the new facility.

The Foundation emphasizes that consistent mentorship reduces recidivism and increases educational attainment among participating youth by as much as 75%.

YPJF is inviting the public to support the initiative by making a one-time gift or becoming a monthly sustainer. Donations can be made directly on the campaign page, which tracks progress toward the $10,000 goal.
