Central Texas Based Nonprofit Donates To 'Heaven's 27,' In Honor Of Flood Victims: Continues National Flood Relief Drive

The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, national nonprofit, based on Central Texas; formed in response to the May 2022, Robb Elementary School shooting, announced in an update early Monday morning, that it continues to distribute funding raised through its national campaign to aid victims of the tragic, July 4th flooding in Central Texas. 

In the Labor Day announcement, the foundation noted that it has donated $1,000 to, 'Heavens 27,' Fund, designated through the San Antonia Area Foundation, to directly support families of the 27 lives lost to the tragedy. This following the foundations previous $4,000 donation to the Hill Country Camp Recovery Funds.
The foundation noted, in the update, that an additional $1,565 in direct aide (Temporary Housing/Living Necessities/Transportation, etc ) has been provided to several families affected, to varying degrees, by the flooding.
The foundation's crisis support team, composed of mental health professionals who volunteer their services through the foundation; has logged since the flooding over 235 hours in pro bono crisis counseling services.

The foundation stated that it will extend its through fundraising efforts through September 2025.

In a statement, founder Daniel Chapin noted,

"The tragedy of July 4th will and should never be forgotten. We here at the foundation continue to stand with and mourn alongside our neighbors in Kerr County. Yet, we also find hope in the courage and bravery of a community, an entire nation would do well to emulate. We understand the healing and recovery process will take time.. We remain committed to our efforts as long as needed."

The foundation will also continue to collect and distribute supplies received from partners nationwide to Kerr County/Saba County/Bexar County, with some supplies aiding local Central Texas organizations efforts such as the Central Texas Diaper Bank & Foster Love Bell County..
