Youth Peace & Justice Foundation Announces Memorial Walk for Kerrville Flood Victims
Temple to Kerrville, Texas | July 4–13, 2026
TEMPLE, Texas (June 25, 2026) — Youth Peace & Justice Foundation, formerly known as The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, announced today the Memorial Walk for Kerrville Flood Victims: Lives, Legacy & Recovery Journey, a 10-day remembrance walk scheduled to begin July 4, 2026, in Temple, Texas, and conclude in Kerrville, Texas.
The event is a non-competitive, long-distance memorial walk honoring individuals who died in the 2025 Kerrville-area flooding disaster and recognizing families and communities engaged in ongoing recovery efforts across Central Texas.
Organizers said the walk is intended to provide a public space for remembrance and reflection while highlighting long-term recovery needs in affected communities.
The route spans approximately 155–175 miles across Central Texas, traveling through Temple, Belton, Salado, Jarrell, Georgetown, Florence, Burnet, Marble Falls, Johnson City, Fredericksburg, and Kerrville.
The walk will begin at Buc-ee’s in Temple, Texas, at 8 a.m. on July 4. Participants will proceed through the Temple area before concluding the first day in Belton, where an overnight stop is planned.
Members of the public may participate in designated segments of the walk. Participation will be voluntary and subject to on-site coordination and safety guidance from organizers and local authorities.
Organizers said logistical planning is underway, including coordination of hydration support points and safety measures along the route for participants over the multi-day event.
Funds raised in connection with the walk will support the Heavens 27 Fund, a designated relief fund supporting families and community-based memorial and recovery efforts related to the Kerrville-area flooding disaster. Additional information is available at: https://saafdn.org/heavens-27-fund/
