January 30, 2009 – February 21, 2026
At the request of the family, the foundation has included a special memorial below for Santino Israel Gonzalez - Gone Far Too Soon
Santino’s life was tragically cut short on February 21, 2026, following a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri. Though gone far too soon, his spirit and the joy he brought to others will never be forgotten.
Santino Israel Gonzalez was born in Overland Park, Kansas, where he grew up surrounded by family, friends, and a community that will forever remember his energy, humor, and determination.
Santino was a hardworking young man who took great pride in learning the concrete finishing trade alongside his father. From an early age, he understood the value of dedication, responsibility, and the importance of supporting family. Working side-by-side with his father was something he was proud of, and it reflected the strong bond they shared.
Known for his sense of humor and easygoing personality, Santino loved making people smile and laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cutting hair for his dad, brother, and friends, and celebrating life in the small moments that mattered most. Santino also loved blowing up fireworks and cruising around after working hard to earn his dream car—milestones that reflected his determination and independent spirit.
To those who knew him best, Santino was loyal, caring, and full of life. He had a strong sense of family and friendship, and he brought joy to the people around him through his kindness and laughter.
In Santino’s honor, the Youth Peace & Justice Foundation will plant a memorial tree through the Trees For Peace Living Memorial, ensuring his memory continues to live on as a symbol of life, remembrance, and community.
