Youth Peace and Justice Foundation Now Accessible via Aloha United Way 211 on Oʻahu

HONOLULU, HAWAIʻI — April 6, 2026 — The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation, also known as The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, announced Monday its inclusion in the Aloha United Way 211 resource database, strengthening access to essential support services for families and youth across Oʻahu, Hawaii.

Through this, the Foundation’s AnchorPoint Youth Safe House in Kapolei and Community Crisis Response Team programs are now accessible through Hawaiʻi’s most comprehensive human services information system, connecting local ʻohana to vital assistance in times of crisis.

Expanded Local Impact

Services for Oahu residents now searchable through AUW 211 include:

* Emergency and post‑disaster housing support for families with children
* Disaster‑related financial assistance and gift card distribution
* Points of distribution for essential supplies like food and hygiene items
* Referrals and databank service connections
* Crisis support for youth displaced due to violence

The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation was formed in 2022 following the Robb Elementary School tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, with a mission to promote resilience, non‑violence, and justice among youth and families in communities nationwide.

Founder Daniel Chapin brings decades of experience in community leadership, ministry, advocacy, and direct outreach. His life’s work spans journalism, trauma response, youth advocacy, pastoral ministry, and large‑scale peace‑building efforts. Chapin has participated in long‑distance peace pilgrimages — including a walk around the perimeter of Oʻahu — and founded the Aloha Church in Oʻahu/Honolulu in 2011/2012, reflecting his commitment to fostering community, spiritual support, and resilience.

Hawaiʻi Connection & Aloha Spirit

Chapin’s historical ties to Hawaiʻi reflect a personal commitment to the “Aloha Spirit” — kindness, compassion, unity, and mutual respect woven into the islands’ cultural fabric. His public peace pilgrimages, community engagement, and establishment of the Aloha Church have underscored the Foundation’s long-standing orientation toward service, solidarity, and collaborative support for families in need.

The Foundation’s Kapolei-based AnchorPoint Safe House formalizes these efforts on Oʻahu, offering a localized, rapid-response model designed to assist families displaced by disaster or youth impacted by violence.

Statement from the Founder

This is a meaningful moment for our organization and for the ʻohana of Kapolei and Oʻahu,” said Daniel Chapin, Founder and President of the Youth Peace and Justice Foundation. “Partnering with Aloha United Way 211 means families in crisis can more easily find help when they need it most — rooted in compassion, resilience, and community.”

Chapin added, “Our ongoing work on Oʻahu builds on years of connection, service, and shared commitment to peace, justice, and healing.”
