Official Announcement: The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation Further Defines National Role, Launches New Impact Model, and Commits to Enhanced Transparency: Last Week The Foundation Released Initial Planning
Temple, Texas – October 31, 2025 – The Board of Directors for The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation, which operates as a key AKA legal subsidiary of the Uvalde Foundation for Kids (Charity ID 88-3268749), has met again this week, to close out October 2025, completing a series of nationwide meetings & a special strategic review of its recent rebranding.
Foundation officials, with feedback from its national advisory board, volunteers and public feedback; further approved on October 31st major restructuring to maximize program impact and ensure long-term financial accountability.
Sharpening National Focus and Program Consolidation
The original Board, meeting on October 18, 2025, clarified the foundation’s commitment to a national role in its mission delivery, following recent support efforts in the wake of the Texas flood relief, Annunciation School Shooting, missing childrens cases in California & ongoing push for child protection laws in Missouri. To align its resources with this nationwide focus, the Board passed a unanimous resolution to delete unscalable programs, such as the StopNow school patrols, effective immediately.
This strategic streamlining paves the way for more development in some of the organization’s new core initiatives including Bullying Prevention and Youth Impact Model. All remaining consolidated programs will now operate under this single, high-impact model, ensuring every dollar directly supports measurable youth development and safety outcomes across the country.
Commitment to Enhanced Financial Accountability
In a strong move toward greater public trust, the Board confirmed a unanimous decision to elevate its standard of financial reporting. Moving forward, the foundation will file the more detailed IRS Form 990-EZ (Short Form) annually, instead of the less descriptive Form 990-N (e-Postcard), regardless of whether its revenue levels technically qualify for the simpler form.
This commitment reflects a renewed focus on better financial transparency and accountability to all donors and stakeholders.
Governance and Stability
The Board addressed several vacant positions resulting from the rebrand.
The Board in response also unanimously approved an immediate Board Recruitment Plan to fill the vacancies with qualified individuals whose expertise complements the new strategic direction. The Board is scheduled to hold its next formal meeting in three months, in January 2026.
"These are pivotal moments for our organization," said President Daniel Chapin. "The unanimous decisions to delete unscalable programs and simultaneously invest in new, more scalable programming & enhanced transparency, demonstrate a ruthless renewed focus on mission clarity, community engagement and transparency & high-impact work, nationwide. Coupled with our commitment to file the 990-EZ, which most organizations our current size, fail to and are, admittedly, not required to do - We are further ensuring that our governance and transparency are as strong as our programs & stand apart from the rest."
