IMMEDIATE RELEASE: YPJF Defies Intimidation, Commits to Stockton Ceasefire

Stockton, CA – December 9, 2025

18 DECEMBER FULL STORY UPDATE HERE

The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation (YPJF) today announces it has formally rejected and defied a demand that sought to force the organization to halt its citywide ceasefire negotiations.

The elusive demand, received via telephone by an anonymous, untraceable caller advised a volunteer at the foundation to withdraw from all planned/attempted negotiations with known gang factions within the city or "face serious consequences."

🕊️ Commitment to Peace Over Fear

Foundation Founder Daniel Chapin confirmed the YPJF's mission will not be deterred:

"This demand is absolute proof that our work directly challenges the destructive status quo. The violence we are fighting is the same systemic force that led to the tragic loss of life at the recent birthday party shooting. We will not allow fear or intimidation to win. Our commitment to saving lives and bringing a permanent ceasefire to Stockton is absolute and non-negotiable."

⚖️ Our Stance: Transparency and Public Safety

The YPJF is prioritizing the greater public good and mission integrity. Our decisions reflect our strict adherence to mediator principles:

The YPJF's communication with law enforcement (LE) is strictly limited to security protocol and risk assessment concerning the physical safety of our staff and meeting locations. We are not assisting in any criminal investigation related to the threat itself.

Focus is on Peace, Not Persecution: We are not investigators; we are peace builders. We are proceeding with the negotiations as planned.

To the Community: We are being transparent so you know the dangers we face at times. We need your support to prove that the will of the people for peace is stronger than the will of any one group for violence.

🚀 Action & Next Steps

The YPJF will proceed with its three-year violence prevention plan for Stockton. We urge all parties involved in the ceasefire negotiations to attend the upcoming talks.

Stand with us. The violence ends when the community decides it ends.
