URGENT PRESS RELEASE: YPJF Confirms Ceasefire Talks This Friday, Calls for Moral and Community Leadership
Update 17 December HERE
STOCKTON, CA – December 10, 2025
The same day as updates from Stockton law enforcement officials revealed over 59 shots were fired at a recent mass shooting in Stockton, California, The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation (YPJF), also known as the Uvalde Foundation Kids, a 501c3 charity violence prevention nonprofit formed after the Uvalde, Texas Mass Shooting this evening announced a critical step forward in its fight against violence, confirming the date for the highly anticipated multi-gang ceasefire negotiations in Stockton, marking a direct and defiant response to recent and ongoing violence.
The critical meeting, which seeks to end the cycle of retaliation following the tragic November mass shooting, is confirmed for this Friday, December 12, 2025 at 9pm
The Moment of Decision: Friday, December 12th
"While the community has been processing we have been working behind the scenes. We gave our word to the families of Stockton, and that word is our bond. We will not allow intimidation to win," said Chapin. "This Friday, the choice is clear: Peace over Fear. We call upon all parties—including representatives from the historically rival Norteños and Sureños-affiliated groups—to come to the table to honor the lives lost and secure a permanent ceasefire for the city. We are encouraged by the invitation acceptance as well by representatives of the following: Conway Gangsters, Sinners Click, Fly boys & East Coast Crips.
The successful execution of these talks will kick off the YPJF’s comprehensive, three-year violence prevention plan for Stockton.
Call for Moral and Community Leadership. The foundation is also slated to open its Anchorpoint Hub Community support center, January 1st, as announced earlier this week as well.
To ensure the ceasefire is supported by the deepest moral authority of the community, the YPJF is formally asking for additional representation at the conference:
* The Foundation is requesting one respected member of the local clergy and one recognized community leader to join the mediation conference.
* Rationale: The presence of the faith and community sectors is crucial to reinforce the message that the violence is morally unacceptable and to provide a pathway for social support and intervention services, a practice common in successful Group
Violence Intervention models.
Operational Integrity: Location and Safety Confidential
To protect the integrity and safety of all participants, the specific meeting location and time will remain strictly confidential.
* Zero Law Enforcement Interference: The YPJF confirms that its communication with law enforcement (LE) is limited to safety awareness. We are not assisting in any investigation related to the threat itself. Our commitment is to the community-based process, which requires absolute neutrality.
* Safety Precedent: This strict adherence to mediation protocol is crucial to build the trust necessary to end the violence, ensuring the focus remains on life-saving dialogue, not security logistics.
We urge the people of Stockton to stand with the Foundation and prove that the collective will for peace is stronger than the will for violence. The violence ends when the community decides it ends.
