(FULL STORY HERE)
(EVENING UPDATE) — The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation (The Uvalde Foundation For Kids) today announced a critical step in its aid effort for the family of Cameron Graham, the North Forsyth High School student who died last week following a fatal campus altercation.
The Foundation has been informed of the decision by local authorities not to pursue criminal charges in the case. The Foundation respects the legal process and remains focused entirely on the humanitarian needs created by this tragedy.
Now that the foundation has learned of a verified GOFUNDME set up by the family, so as to streamline public contributions, the Foundation is ceasing its direct "Seeds of Hope" fundraising efforts and is directing all current funds raised through the Foundation’s efforts to be deposited into the family's verified GoFundMe account, below.
The Foundation also confirmed its outreach to North Forsyth High School officials in an effort to coordinate support and connect with Cameron Graham's family, noting it has received no response regarding this outreach to date.
"The legal outcome does not change the human cost of this tragedy," said Daniel Chapin, Founder of the Youth Peace and Justice Foundation. "Our mission is purely humanitarian—to ensure Cameron Graham's family receives essential financial aid and that the North Forsyth community has access to trauma support. We are making the process as streamlined and transparent as possible by immediately transferring our collected funds to the family's verified GoFundMe."
💖 Immediate Community Support and Action Continues
The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation continues to extend concrete support to Cameron Graham’s family and the North Forsyth High School community:
* Financial Aid Consolidation: Funds raised by the Foundations seperate fundraiser Launched immediately following the tragedy are set to be deposited into the family’s verified GoFundMe page. The public is now urged to donate directly to that platform.
* Response to Legal Decision: The Foundation respects the authorities' decision but emphasizes that the tragic loss of life on campus underscores the urgent need for violence de-escalation and trauma support.
* 24-Hour Trauma Counseling: Providing 24-hour peer and professional trauma counseling support for students, staff, and families reeling from the loss. This crisis support remains available immediately by calling 254-499-8027.
* Permanent Memorialization: Cameron Graham has been officially added to the Foundation’s national youth violence memorial. A memorial tree will be planted in his honor through the Trees for Peace Memorial initiative, ensuring a lasting tribute to his life.
