💥 IMMEDIATE CRISIS ALERT: YPJF Launches Massive 12-County, 10,000+ Inquiry Food Card Lifeline as SNAP Benefits Crisis Looms! 🚨
AUSTIN, Texas—Oct. 29, 2025—
The Youth Peace and Justice Foundation (YPJF), a 501c3 non-profit charity also known as The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, has expanded its emergency operations to address the looming November SNAP benefits crisis impacting Texas families. The foundation today issued an urgent call for community support to sustain its emergency community crisis support options for families after being immediately overwhelmed with requests.
The Crisis and YPJF's Immediate Response
The need for emergency support surged following the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s confirmation that monthly SNAP food benefits will not be issued on Nov. 1, compounded by reports of new, stricter eligibility rules. This has created a severe food security vacuum for hundreds of thousands of children.
* The foundation secured an additional 2,000 H.E.B. Gift Cards to dramatically expand its relief effort.
* This temporary, emergency program provides a vital bridge-funding measure to ensure consistent meals throughout November.
* The YPJF's dignity-first approach offers direct aid via gift cards, giving parents the flexibility to purchase essential groceries.
Distribution Details and Scope of Assistance
While applications are currently being reviewed and applicants are receiving an acceptance or rejection decision within 24 hours, the actual distribution of assistance will begin at midnight on November 1st. The expanded assistance is available to qualified families with school-age children across twelve Texas counties:
* Bell County
* McClennan County
* Bexar County
* Williamson County
* Milam County
* Coryell County
* Hays County
* Travis County
* San Saba County
* Harris County
* Dallas County
* El Paso County
Note: As more aid becomes available, additional counties throughout Texas may be included in this relief effort.
Urgent Updates and Collaborative Efforts
The foundation added an emergency update Thursday based on the overwhelming response. Since releasing initiative information this morning, the foundation's 24-hour community crisis line has received over 10,000 inquiries. Notably, over 75% of these are from the El Paso and San Antonio regions, with the surge out of El Paso County being particularly acute, a response attributed by the foundation to intense local media coverage.
To meet the overwhelming 10,000+ demand, the foundation will be collaborating with its various partners, as it did during the Texas floods, to provide additional support through November.
During those flood relief efforts, reported in a TDT news article, the foundation worked alongside community partners like BOBOS to ensure critical resources reached families: https://www.tdtnews.com/news/central_texas_news/article_3f5f1521-f2d7-4b71-9c49-a15005b0db51.html.
Furthermore, the YPJF is currently distributing cases of water, milk, eggs, protein bars, and basic groceries throughout Bell County alongside the gift card program.
🌟 Call for Immediate Donations
The overwhelming 10,000+ response demonstrates the severe impact of the SNAP halt. As a 501c3 non-profit charity, the Youth Peace and Justice Foundation is urgently asking the community for immediate financial donations to sustain this lifeline and its emergency community crisis support options for families. Every contribution is fully tax-deductible and goes directly toward ensuring no child in Texas goes hungry this November.
