Uvalde Foundation for Kids Renames Child Search Initiative "Emmanuel's Hope" in Honor of Missing Baby Emmanuel Haro

TEMPLE, TX – The Uvalde Foundation for Kids, a national child advocacy and violence prevention organization, today announced it is renaming its "No Child Lost" initiative to "Emmanuel's Hope." The change comes in honor of baby Emmanuel Haro, the seven-month-old infant from California who has been missing since August 14, 2025, and is now feared to be deceased following the arrest of his parents on suspicion of murder.

The foundation, which provides assistance to find missing and endangered youth nationwide, had been actively involved in the search for Emmanuel. The organization initially deployed independent search teams and offered a reward for information. However, the foundation's involvement was complicated by what it described as "inconsistencies" in the parents' story and a sudden breakdown in communication.

"We cannot in good conscience, utilize our team and resources when so much is missing in this case," said Daniel Chapin, founder of the Uvalde Foundation for Kids, in a recent statement. "Of particular concern to us lies within the inconsistencies in the details and the sudden decision by the mother to end communication with law enforcement and our team originally prepared to help. Tell me, what parent would do that who was missing a child? Something is not right in this whole picture."

Despite the difficult circumstances surrounding the case and the foundation's decision to pull its search teams, the tragic outcome has solidified the organization's resolve to continue its mission.

"Emmanuel's Hope" will serve as a poignant reminder of this precious child lost and the urgent need to find all missing children.

Beyond serving as a tribute to Emmanuel, the newly named initiative will expand its scope.

"Emmanuel's Hope" will not only continue to assist in physical searches for missing students and youth but will also provide financial aid to families and communities to help with the costs associated with locating a missing child.

This can include assistance with printing missing person posters, organizing search parties, and other necessary resources to support families in their desperate search for answers.

"While we are heartbroken by the outcome of Emmanuel's case, we are more determined than ever to honor his memory by strengthening our commitment to finding every lost child," said Chapin. "The initiative now named 'Emmanuel's Hope' will provide a beacon of light for families in their darkest hour, ensuring that no stone is left unturned and that every family has the resources they need to bring their child home."

The Uvalde Foundation for Kids will continue to work closely with law enforcement and other advocacy groups to address the nationwide crisis of missing and endangered children. The foundation encourages anyone with information on a missing child to contact their local authorities and the "Emmanuel's Hope" initiative to request assistance.
