Uvalde Foundation For Kids Issues Statement on Minneapolis Church Shooting
August 27, 2025
"The Uvalde Foundation For Kids extends its deepest sympathies to the victims, their families, and the entire community of Minneapolis following the horrific shooting at Annunciation Church today. Our hearts are heavy with the news of this senseless violence, particularly as it occurred in a place of worship and with children reportedly among the victims.
As an organization dedicated to ending violence in our nation's schools and communities, we are heartbroken to see yet another tragedy unfold. We know all too well the pain and trauma that a single act of violence can inflict on an entire community. The ripple effect of such an event is immeasurable, and our thoughts are with every person affected.
The Uvalde Foundation For Kids stands ready to offer our assistance and resources to the Minneapolis community.
Our School Critical Incident Response Team is prepared to provide no-cost emergency mental health support, spiritual grief services, and any other aid necessary to help the children, families, and school staff as they begin the difficult journey toward healing.
We will not allow the darkness of violence to extinguish the light of hope.
We continue to call upon leaders and communities across the nation to come together to address the root causes of violence and to implement meaningful solutions that protect our children and ensure their safety.
We must work tirelessly to create a world where every child can learn, play, and live without fear."
