The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, national nonprofit, based in Central Texas; formed in response to the May 2022, Robb Elementary School shooting - Announced in an update early Saturday morning; that it has made it's first round of what it noted will be several ongoing donations to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund of the Community Foundation Of The Texas Hill Country. The foundation donated $2,000 to the fund as of the Saturday release.
This, the result of the foundations national fundraiser, launched last week, to aide those affected by the tragic flooding, which left a community, state & nation daunted beyond measure.
The foundation noted in the release, that it has elected, to split a portion of all funds it receives from its independent fundraiser between Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, specific to Kerr County; with remaining donations received to be held in a foundation fund, meant to provide immediate aide to those directly affected by the flooding throughout Central Texas. The foundation will continue the fundraiser through August 2025.
In a statement, founder Daniel Chapin noted, "The tragedy of July 4th will and should never be forgotten. We here at the foundation stand with and mourn alongside our neighbors in Kerr County. Yet, we also find hope in the courage and bravery of a community, an entire nation would do well to emulate."
